These topics, undoubtedly, are one of my favorite areas of guitar repair. Through the years I have done pickup and electronics repair, upgrades and modifications for myself as well as many of my friends and customers. Looking at electric guitars today, imports have really taken a lead in sales over high end instruments. Imports make guitars affordable for practically everyone. The cool thing about imports is they seem to play pretty well and can be setup nicely. So why so inexpensive? Mass production, lesser quality woods, cheap labor and the lack of quality electronics. Let's say you have an Epiphone Les Paul import. It plays good but doesn't sound that hot. With electronics upgrades there is little to no limit as to the quality of sound that guitar can produce. Is the guitar worth putting money into to do these upgrades?, you bet it is. No matter what guitar you have I can help with any electronics repair or replacement operations. Services Performed: During our pre-repair consultation we will discuss your electronics repair, upgrade or modification needs. Once we determine the service you need, I can price it accordingly. If you have a problem with your electronics, it can be tested to make sure all pots, pickups and capacitors are measuring their proper value and that wiring and switches are working correctly. If you want to upgrade your electronics to better quality componants, I can install individual pieces or complete kits. I also perform hot rodding modifications that offer you a wide aray of choices in tone and sound, many with no hole drilling for switches through the use of push/pull pots. Upon completion I do extensive tests to make sure work is correct. Clean and polish guitar. |
