About

For acoustic, electric and bass guitars

This repair usually affects the first 3 - 5 frets from the nut. Sometimes you may have random frets on the board that wear from playing in certain keys more than others. Caution has to be exercised on partial fret jobs. The new fret wire should be .005" to .010" taller in height than the remaining good frets and certainly the same width. The remaining old frets should be able to give up .005" in height to withstand recrowning, polishings and still be tall enough for good playing height. If I do not think I can get a finished fret height of .030" or better, it's time to discuss a refret. Honestly, .030" is too low for some styles of playing and personal preferences. But, when conditions are right, a partial fret job is the way to go.

                Services Performed:
                1. Remove strings, heat and remove frets to be replaced.
                2. Level neck to zero relief, seat neck in jig.
                3. Clean and measure fret slots, determine tang size and install new frets.
                4. Level new frets to height of
 remaining old frets.
                5. Mark frets and fine sand confirming fret radius on all frets and re-crown.
                6. Polish frets, treat the fretboard, restring your guitar.
                7.  Adjust truss rod, set relief and action, bridge radius, nut slot depth, set                      intonation.
                8. Clean and polish your guitar.

Your new fret replacement and setup will 'settle in', please return within two                 weeks for your free readjust.
