About

 For acoustic guitars

If you have a guitar that you want to install an undersaddle pickup and preamp in, you should spend a little time researching products and choose one that best suits what you want to hear. You should play a few acoustic/electrics through an acoustic amplifier or a decent sound system (PA). If you have to, go to the music store and play a few guitars through an acoustic amp to see what sounds best. Once you have decided on a make and model, then it's time to think about installation. Some DIY'ers can do this but be advised there is reaming, drilling and sometimes cutting to be done. Trust me, there are good luthiers and guitar techs out there that have litterally wrestled with a guitar trying to get that switchjack installed where the lower bought strap button once was, myself included. If you do not have the right tools, or have never done this before and you own a guitar you love dearly, you should leave this one to someone who has experience.
